Son of Prominent Dominican Politician Shot Dead in Texas

(RepublicanReport.org) – The son of a prominent Dominican politician was the victim of a deadly shooting in Texas. He and another man were gunned down as they returned to their vehicle from a gas station convenience store. Authorities believe the attack, which injured one other person, was part of a targeted move.

The Houston Police Department shared in an April 2 press release that the fatal event occurred the previous evening at around 8:20 p.m. A silver Dodge Charger and a silver Mercedes Benz drove up to a black SUV as its four occupants left the convenience store and got into their vehicle.

Three suspects then emerged from the cars, each armed with a gun. All three fired multiple rounds at the SUV, prompting two of the targets to flee. The assailants shot both men as they ran for the store, killing one and seriously injuring the other before leaving the scene.

Authorities identified the deceased victim as 34-year-old Luis Alfredo Pacheco Rojas. He was the son of Alfredo Pacheco, who is the president of the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic. The young man was residing in Texas while attempting to pursue a career in music. He reportedly was an aspiring rapper who performed under the handles El Pikante and Spicy. Officials have so far withheld the identity of the other victim, stating only that he is a 29-year-old man who had gone to the hospital in critical condition.

The Houston Police Department shared surveillance camera images of its three suspects, asking for help from anyone who might recognize their faces. The department added on X, the social media network formerly known as Twitter, that it is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for tips leading to the killers’ capture. Informants can call HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600, or they can share what they know anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
