(RepublicanReport.org) – After President Joe Biden posted his letter to the nation, explaining he would not continue in the presidential race in 2024, he swiftly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the nomination. Following the announcement, a major Democratic super political action committee (PAC) released a campaign ad in battleground states.
On July 23, the American Bridge 21st Century super PAC launched a $20 million ad campaign in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The ad features an Army veteran named Joe from PA who talked about how the insurrection on January 6 affected him. He spoke as clips of the events that day at the Capitol ran in the background.
Joe said Trump incited the violence and was responsible for that day. The veteran not only felt violated by the incident but said it was “an example of Trump spitting on all…who served” in the US military — both alive and dead. While indicted on January 6 charges, Trump has not been convicted of any such actions.
The recent ad buy is part of a $200 million investment by American Bridge 21st Century during this cycle. It’s unclear how many similar advertisements attacking Trump are planned by the cash-rich super PAC.
The organization released a statement about its plans to defeat the former president, stating it is focusing on “abortion, democracy, and freedom” as the key elements. The group said the ad was a reminder of the events of January 6 and who it believes was responsible.
The PAC’s co-founder, Bradley Beychok, said that people in America just “want to stop being terrified of what could possibly come” after another four years of Trump in the White House. He claimed that members of Trump’s former cabinet and staff believe he’s “unfit to be president” again.
As of June 30, the Harris campaign had nearly $96 million cash on hand to use on ads, rallies, and the like. The Trump campaign had even more cash available at that time — over $128 million — to do the same.
