(RepublicanReport.org) – Scientists are constantly trying to figure out how to reuse and recycle trash while inventing eco-friendly ways of producing electricity. It turns out, however, that we can actually do both at the same time. Researchers at a South Korean university recently debuted a toilet that pays students for their poop and turns it into electricity.
Everything that eats later poops; it’s just part of life. For students at South Korea’s Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, poop is also a passion. The revolutionary toilet that’s making news, called the BeeVi, works like any other common commode on the surface but takes your donation to an underground tank where methane gas can be extracted from the waste for fuel.
In exchange for using the toilet, BeeVi gives its users 10 Ggool, a cryptocurrency that payees can use at the school store for coffee, food items, and even books. When students look at the facts, using this electricity-producing toilet to make extra cash isn’t a bad deal at all.

While this new invention may be off-putting for some, hopefully, this is a trend that can take hold worldwide. Capturing human waste to turn into electricity while providing a monetary exchange almost sounds too good to be true. Either way, these researchers have truly made the best out of a crappy situation.
