Russian Muslims Are Hunting Israeli Passengers

( – The Israel-Hamas War recently entered a new phase involving the expanded use of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) tanks and other ground-based combat elements. IDF commanders have delayed launching an all-out ground offensive so far, but an increasing number of civilians are fleeing to other countries. Recent news reports indicated that Russian Muslims are hunting Israeli passengers seeking refuge there.

On October 30, video footage of a large group of Palestinian supporters chanting anti-Semitic slogans stormed an Israeli aircraft shortly after it landed at the Makhachkala International Airport (MCX) “Uytash.” MCX is located in the Russian Republic of Dagestan, a predominantly Muslim region in the Northern Caucasus along the Caspian Sea.

The footage shows several members of the angry mob waving Palestinian flags while running onto the runway and surrounding the airplane carrying passengers from Tel Aviv, Israel’s technological and economic center. Members of the crowd could be heard chanting “Allahu Akbar,” God is great.” Other rioters could be heard shouting anti-Semitic slurs.

Rosaviatsia, Russia’s federal air transport agency, dispatched security forces to restore order. Local news agencies reported that law enforcement officials arrested about 60 alleged participants for crimes related to the incident.

Additional video footage showed Russian Muslims stopping vehicles in the area surrounding their airport to ask motorists if they were transporting any Jewish passengers from Israel. BBC News reported that a passenger on the flight from Tel Aviv told local media outlets that rioters let him go after telling him that they weren’t “touching non-Jews today.”

Officials from Dagestan’s health ministry confirmed that 20 people were injured in the incident, including protesters and police officers. Two individuals were reportedly in critical condition; others suffered serious injuries. An unknown number of people transported themselves to local medical facilities for treatment and were released. The airport canceled all incoming and outgoing flights for several hours Sunday night. However, it restored services on Monday.
