Rapinoe Takes Shot At Christians: ‘Proof God Isn’t Real’

(RepublicanReport.org) – Born in 1985 in California, Megan Rapinoe grew up to become an American soccer star. She and her team won an Olympic gold medal in 2012 and two World Cup titles — in 2015 and 2019. Rapinoe was also named FIFA’s Women’s World Player of the Year and given multiple awards for her performance on the field. Recently, the athlete made a comment about God that got her in hot water with Christians.

In November 2023, the Daily Wire reported that Rapinoe was playing in her last professional game when she tore her Achilles — a game-ending injury. After the incident, she said, “I’m not a religious person or anything, and if there was a God, this is proof that there isn’t.” Her words reportedly upset Christians. Recently, she appeared on the “Pablo Torre Finds Out” podcast, where the athlete addressed the controversy coming from Christians about her previous comment.

According to Fox News, she said, “Somebody needs to check on the Christians. They’re not okay.” Rapinoe added that they simply “missed the whole joke.” The award-winning athlete went on to say that people even celebrated her injury because she’s a controversial figure. She said those people have a “special place” carved out for them in hell.

Penn Live reported that several people reacted to her words about Christians missing the joke on social media. One said that perhaps they missed it twice because the athlete was getting reamed online, while former athlete Riley Gaines called Rapinoe entitled.

The soccer star has made headlines for more than her impressive athletic career. She refused to sing the national anthem before games, kneeling during the song, and is an outspoken activist for Left-wing causes like LGBTQ rights, equal pay for women, and racial justice. The Daily Wire reported that Rapinoe also weighed in on transgender individuals in sports, stating that people who are worried about someone else having an “unfair advantage over their kid” are taking children’s sports way too seriously.
