No Labels Director Says He Prefers Biden Over Trump

(RepublicanReport.org) – No Labels is a political party co-founded by the recently deceased former Senator Joe Lieberman (D-CT). He started the group to give voters a viable alternative to the Republican and Democratic nominees. The members of No Labels claim to be filled with members from the Right, Left, and center focused on finding common ground. While some were worried about the party creating a spoiler for November, No Labels recently decided to back away from the race.

On April 4, the party confirmed it was abandoning its efforts of trying to find an alternative candidate. No Labels CEO Nancy Jacobson stated the group would only offer its name to someone with a “credible path to winning the White House.” She said that the candidate it was hoping for “never emerged,” so backing away from the campaign was the group’s only course of action. Later that same day, No Labels Director Joe Cunningham told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto that he would “vote for Biden over Trump.”

He said it was hard for the group to find someone who met the No Labels’ requirement of a possible win in November. The party wasn’t meant to be a spoiler. Cunningham said it was hard to buck up against America’s established two-party system. While the former senator himself said he would support the president for re-election, he made it clear that was his personal preference — not the new party’s. Still, as the director of No Labels, his words could make an impact on those who support the movement.

A recent NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist National Poll showed that President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are in a close race for the White House. The survey showed the US leader two points ahead of the former, with 2% still undecided. When the choice included a third party, Biden still came out ahead by the same two points, with alternative candidates picking up about 14% of the vote.
