NFL Fans Raise Over $250,000 For Animal Charity

(RepublicanReport.org) – Like most football fans in America, Buffalo Bills fans are some of the most loyal diehard fans dedicated to their team every season. As the NFL grows closer to the Super Bowl, tensions have been high to see which team will make it to the big game this year. On January 21, the pressure was on as the Bills played the Kansas City Chiefs. During the last seconds of the game, Bills kicker Tyler Bass missed a field goal, costing the team the chance to tie the game. Sadly, the athlete received death threats as a result. But, Bills fans rallied behind the kicker.

On January 24, The Daily Wire reported that the Ten Lives Club, a non-profit cat adoption center, stepped in to defend Bass. The organization shared a post showing the kicker holding one of the kittens that lives there with a caption reading, “We stand with Tyler Bass. Don’t bully our friend.” The post explained that the shelter heard the athlete was receiving death threats and said he “doesn’t deserve any of the hate,” adding the athlete is a great football player with a heart. Bass helped the organization rescue cats in 2023. The Ten Lives Club said fans have been flooding them with donations in the ball player’s name to show their support for the kicker — and the cats.

The Buffalo News reported that donations topped $260,000, as Bills fans continued to show they were behind the kicker by and large. Many donations were $22 in honor of Bass, who wears the No. 2 jersey. Chef Rachael Ray also reportedly stepped in, donating $15,000 through her foundation, matching another $15,000 from her company Nutrish.

According to The Daily Wire, it wasn’t just Bills fans who were donating, but football fans supporting multiple teams, including the Chiefs, the Miami Dolphins, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. As one Chiefs fan, and cat person, put it — “Tyler doesn’t deserve the guff he’s getting at all.”
