Marjorie Taylor Greene Swatted at Home on Christmas

(RepublicanReport.org) – Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) nearly received the biggest Christmas surprise of her life this year following a swatting attempt targeted at her home. She shared the news on X, the social media outlet formerly known as Twitter, stating that the incident marked “like the 8th time” her house had been hit.

Greene wrote about the swatting attempt right after it happened, at 7:48 a.m., on Christmas morning. She stated that her family was there, meaning the stunt could have put more than just the Georgia representative’s life at risk. The lawmaker praised her local police department and added that its responders didn’t deserve the potential ordeal. She also expressed appreciation for her loved ones and the holiday, describing the atmosphere in her home as “joyous.”

The New York Post reports that a male had called a suicide hotline, threatening to kill himself and claiming he’d gunned down his girlfriend at Greene’s address. Police dispatched officers, but they also contacted the lawmaker’s security detail, which confirmed that her family was safe and the event was, indeed, a hoax. Dispatch canceled the call while responders were still driving to the residence, so the representative and her family went on with their morning without incident.

Greene has been the target of multiple threats as well as the swatting attempts. In February, 51-year-old Joseph Morelli pleaded guilty to threatening the representative several times the previous year. In November, 34-year-old Sean Cirillo was arrested for allegedly calling the congresswoman’s office on two separate occasions to threaten the physical safety of everyone who worked there as well as their families.

On December 21, according to another post Greene made on X, someone using the name Ben McLean sent Greene’s boyfriend, Brian Glenn, a series of texts threatening him, the representative, and former President Donald Trump. The lawmaker alleges that police talked to the man, but didn’t file any charges against him.
