Leader Of MAGA Twitter Turns On Republicans

(RepublicanReport.org) – The X/Twitter account @catturd has become a social media leader among MAGA Conservatives, with over 2 million followers. The user recently tweeted that former President Donald Trump was the only right-wing politician they would support in 2024, claiming no other Republicans were worth their vote. The MAGA Twitter leader posted in response to the House voting to shelve the move to impeach Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Only eight Republicans voted alongside Democrats to refer the resolution, although an additional 13 didn’t vote at all. The result was enough to spark @catturd’s fury. He said he isn’t going to waste time listening to anyone’s arguments against his party-sabotaging decision, insisting he’s set in his opposition against everyone except Trump.

The resolution, which Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) introduced to the House on November 8, alleged that Mayorkas should be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors over his poor maintenance of the US-Mexico border. It notes “willful admittance” of migrants, drugs, terrorists, and human traffickers, accusing the DHS secretary of failing to protect the country from an “invasion” that has included roughly 10 million illegal border crossers since Mayorkas took first office. Of particular concern are special interest “gotaways” originating from Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Egypt, and several other countries with terrorist ties. The volume of fentanyl continuing to enter the country and kill Americans was the other big issue Greene had hoped to address in the text.

The House didn’t vote on the resolution itself, but rather on a motion to refer, which Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) brought to the floor on November 13. Congressional Research Services states that lawmakers refer resolutions when they want them reviewed by one or more committees rather than brought to a direct vote. The fate of Greene’s resolution is now in the hands of the Homeland Security Committee.

Social media users are split in their responses to @catturd’s resulting Republican boycott.
