(RepublicanReport.org) – On October 7, a terrorist organization — Hamas — attacked Israel by firing thousands of rockets into the country. The group followed up by breaching the borders, striking by land, sea, and air, killing innocent people and kidnapping many. Israel responded in kind, unleashing attacks on Gaza — an area controlled by Hamas. Unfortunately, civilians on both sides are being caught in the crossfire. As a result, thousands have died, and even more have been injured. Recently, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) declassified a phone call highlighting Hamas’ priorities — and it’s not the Palestinian people.
On November 2, the IDF released a recently intercepted phone call between a Hamas deputy commander, a Gazan resident, and a hospital manager. The terrorist demanded that the hospital give all of its fuel to Hamas. The hospital manager said the Ministry of Finance contacted him to say he needed to “fill up” the organization’s fuel needs, 1,000 liters. When he told the official the hospital only had 600 liters, the Ministry of Finance demanded all of it.
During the phone call, the Gazan resident urged the hospital manager to follow the instructions because things were getting tense and Hamas would “start shooting at [them].”
According to the Daily Wire, the IDF believes the phone call proves that Hamas is putting its needs over the people of Gaza and proves the militant group “controls energy distribution” in the area.
The same day that Israel released the audio, the IDF indicated it would be willing to lift fuel restrictions for the Gaza Strip if hospitals ran out. However, Lieutenant-General Herzi Halevi said hospitals in the region have been warning they will run out of fuel “tomorrow,” but they haven’t run out yet. He assured when that does happen, the IDF will transfer fuel to the buildings — with monitoring to ensure the resource doesn’t go to Hamas.
