CA School Pushes Kids To Watch Films on Transgenderism

(RepublicanReport.org) – A California school district has gone above and beyond to push its woke agenda in classrooms, requiring programs that include having students watch films on transgenderism. The controversial move, which caters to a minority of children, goes against the beliefs of many parents and is a stark contrast to conservative policies, such as those in Florida, which forbid LGBT content in their schools.

Daily Wire uncovered numerous documents from the Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) detailing the controversial strategies. Among them is the California district’s “Safe and Inclusive Schools Program,” which provides educators with materials on gender identity, expression of gender, unconventional families, and other woke themes. It also offers a list of book titles that promote inclusivity, many of which specifically have transgender characters.

Teachers for all grade levels K-12 reportedly receive guides and lesson plans that help them integrate themes of “pride” and “allyship” into their classrooms. Educators are encouraged to wear and give away themed SWAG, and schools display the LGBT flag beneath Old Glory during Pride Month. The district even goes so far as to give suggestions for “trans-positive picture books” for use in kindergarten classrooms.

Gender identity has become a heated subject that is divided largely by party lines. The Washington Post reports that seven states now force teachers to include LGBT subjects in their curriculums. Several other states, including Florida, have restrictions against the controversial materials. Liberals argue that their approach protects and supports the most vulnerable of students, while Conservatives believe such teachings aren’t age-appropriate for children and have no place in public schools.

A 2021 Gallup Poll suggested that roughly 15.9% of Generation Z (people born between 1997 and 2002) identify as somewhere on the LGBT spectrum. The number is significantly higher than that of Millennials (those born between 1981 and 1996), who came in at 9.1%. Both are still much higher than Generation X (people born between 1965 and 1980), which includes about 3.8% of the population, and Baby Boomers (those born between 1946 and 1964), in which 2% identify as LGBT.
