Biden: Putin Is Crazy But Threat to Humanity Is Climate

(RepublicanReport.org) – President Joe Biden recently went on a tangent while speaking about climate change at a Democratic fundraiser. He insisted that humanity’s “existential threat” was climate. The president claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin was a “crazy SOB,” so the potential of a nuclear conflict was also always a concern.

Biden made the comment on February 21, while in California to raise campaign funds. The three-day event included stops hosted by numerous Democratic investors, including businessman Gordon Getty, venture capitalist John Doerr, and entertainment executive Haim Saban. During his speech, the president reportedly offered a strange comparison between Putin and climate change. He implied that the Russian leader was dangerous because the “crazy SOB” made the possibility of “nuclear conflict” a constant worry — but the changing climate ultimately threatened everyone’s existence.

The tangent reportedly struck a nerve with the Kremlin. Spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Biden’s words “churlish” and said the US president put his country to “huge shame.” He accused the US president of trying to “look like a Hollywood cowboy” and said the statement wasn’t likely to affect Putin. Still, according to The Guardian, the Russian president personally called Biden’s statement “rude.”

Biden also spoke out against the Russian leader in response to the recent suspicious death of Kremlin opposition leader Alexei Navalny. He blamed Putin directly in his public statement, also taking his sentiments to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. There, he used the tragedy as an excuse to push for additional funding to aid Ukraine.

Navalny died in an Arctic prison on February 16, after feeling unwell and losing consciousness. Officials told family members he succumbed to “sudden death syndrome” and are refusing to release his body.

The Kremlin has denied having anything to do with the outspoken critic’s death and has condemned the accusations against Putin.
