Marjorie Taylor Greene Branded As ‘Total Waste of Time’ By Peer

(RepublicanReport.org) – In March, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) filed a motion to vacate House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) because she didn’t think he was properly representing the Republican caucus. Recently, she reiterated her quest to remove Johnson from the speakership, prompting harsh feedback from one GOP senator.

On April 23, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) sat for an interview with CNN’s Lauren Fox after the Upper Chamber passed the $95 billion foreign aid bill sent over from the House. The lawmaker told the host that Greene was “uninformed” and a “total waste of time,” adding how “embarrassed” he was to have once lived in her district before she was elected.

Tillis said the Georgia legislator was a “horrible leader” who is “dragging” the whole GOP “brand down.” He said she could cost the Republicans a majority in Congress come November.

Senate Republicans still aren’t happy about the fact that far-Right lawmakers in the House removed former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) just six months ago. The move caused chaos in Congress, bringing all legislation to a grinding halt for weeks. Greene played a part in McCarthy’s ousting. Most GOP members in Congress don’t seem interested in going through that process again — especially in the Senate.

Multiple House Republicans have indicated they would support removing Johnson from the speakership, but doing so would take cooperation from House Democrats — an unlikely get this time around. Johnson said “another motion to vacate” “would not serve” the GOP nor help the party increase its majority.

Former Representative Ken Buck (R-CO) also attacked Greene during an interview, calling her “Moscow Marjorie” after a clip on Russian state TV claimed she was “running Congress.” He said she was spreading Russian propaganda and really hurting American foreign policy” with her antics in the House, adding she was “acting irresponsibly.” He was specifically talking about her opposition to sending aid to Ukraine.

Greene has not yet responded to the attacks.
