Ex-Principal Sentenced In Murder-For-Hire Plot In Death Of Pregnant Girlfriend

(RepublicanReport.org) – There have been many tales of people living double lives and taking drastic action to cover it up, especially when there’s a risk that their duplicity will be discovered. That’s exactly what happened in St. Louis, Missouri, when a former school principal who was having an affair paid a friend to kill his pregnant mistress. He has now been sentenced in the case.

On Tuesday, June 25, the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri announced that a US District judge sentenced 42-year-old Cornelius M. Green to two consecutive life terms in prison. Green, who worked as a middle school principal, had previously pleaded guilty to murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire charges. They stemmed from the death of 30-year-old Jocelyn Peters, whom Green was having an affair with, and her unborn child.

Peters and her baby were murdered in 2016 in her apartment. Green might not have pulled the trigger himself, but he hired a friend to kill her. Peters believed that Green was divorcing his wife and that she was the only woman in his life. As it turned out, the principal was very much still married and conning other women into believing they were his one and only as well.

According to the press release, Green originally tried to kill Peters with crushed up pills he hid in her food, but when that failed, he stole money from Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts Middle School to pay his friend Phillip Cutler, who lived out of town, to kill her.

Green gave Cutler the keys to Peters’ apartment and left town on a train to Chicago in order to establish an alibi. On March 24, Cutler drove to Peters’ apartment and let himself in. He shot the woman through the eye as she sat at her kitchen table working on invitations for her baby shower. Cutler has also been sentenced to two life terms.
