Widow Of Trump Rally Victim Refuses To Speak To Biden

(RepublicanReport.org) – On July 13, a gunman climbed onto a rooftop at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and fired multiple shots into the crowd. While the threat was quickly neutralized, former President Donald Trump was injured, two others were critically hurt, and one man who was shielding his family, Corey Comperatore, was killed.

Shortly after the shooting, President Joe Biden reached out to Comperatore’s widow, Helen Comperatore. She told the New York Post that she refused the call and “didn’t want to talk to him.” Mrs. Comperatore said her husband was a “devout Republican” who wouldn’t have wanted her to take the call. The widow said she doesn’t hold “any ill will towards” the president, adding that a “20-year-old despicable kid” did something wrong to her husband — not Biden. Comperatore also mentioned to the news outlet that Trump had not yet contacted her.

A few days later, Mrs. Comperatore revealed on social media that the former president called her on July 16, telling her that Mr. Comperatore “left this world a hero.” She said Trump was “very kind” to her on the phone. The grieving woman said she supports the GOP nominee, and that’s who she plans to vote for in November.

When the shots rang out at the Pennsylvania rally, Mr. Comperatore reportedly told his family to duck. He then heroically threw himself on top of his loved ones to shield them from harm, taking a bullet himself in the process. His daughter, Allyson Comperatore, said her dad loved them “enough to take a real bullet” to save them.

Corey Comperatore was a 50-year-old former fire chief with two children. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro called the man a “hero” who was a “girl dad” beloved by his family and community. The governor said he represented “the very best of us.” Mr. Comperatore’s neighbor, Paul Hayden, called him an “easygoing guy,” his other neighbor, Brant Dempster, said the man was “patriotic.”
