Trump Ready to Send Federal Assistance to Philadelphia After Nights of Rioting

(RepublicanReport.com) – In any other year, the riots that have swept across the country since May would have been the biggest news story. COVID-19 has eclipsed them, but they’re still causing a major headache for authorities in many areas. Since the death of an African-American man during a confrontation with police on Monday, October 26, Philadelphia is the latest city to suffer through days of violent protests.

However, the president’s patience with these demonstrations appears to be wearing thin, especially given the injuries police officers have suffered during recent protests. White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany announced on Wednesday that the president is open to deploying federal police units to intervene in Philadelphia. McEnany denounced “mob rule” and praised police officers who had given their lives protecting their communities.

Walter Wallace, Jr. was waving a knife at police before they shot him. Any officer is within their rights to protect himself and others under such circumstances, but the anarchists arranging these riots aren’t concerned about those kinds of details. If protesters cannot express themselves peacefully, intervention from federal policing authorities is simply inevitable.
