Trump Says It’s Time To Show McConnell the Door
(RepublicanReport.org) – Former President Donald Trump widely lauded the importance of his own endorsements ahead of this year’s midterm elections. As results have become available, it has become increasingly clear his picks weren’t as successful as he’d hoped. However, the former president is pointing the finger in a different direction; that of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
During an interview on Blaze TV with Glenn Beck on Tuesday, November 8, Trump slammed the current Republican leader in the Senate, calling for his replacement by Senator Rick Scott (R-FL). The former president praised the job Scott did as Florida’s governor, but stated Senate Republicans might be reluctant to oust McConnell because he provided them with campaign funding. Responding to this, Beck speculated that Trump’s intervention might convince lawmakers to back Scott and oppose McConnell.
Trump also highlighted that McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, had ties with China and that she had gone against him when it came to the January 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol Building.

During the interview, Trump also reiterated praise for Republican Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, whom he endorsed, but due to a slow count, has yet to be declared the winner. He was particularly upbeat about her onscreen campaigning efforts.
Do you think Rick Scott would make a better Senate Republican leader than Mitch McConnell?
