Ron DeSantis MEETINGS Reported – Is This a Sign?
(RepublicanReport.org) – Who will get the Republican nomination for the presidential election in 2024? Until recently, many believed former President Donald Trump was a shoo-in. However, it looks increasingly like he may have a real opponent in the form of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Reports have emerged that DeSantis met with a number of high-profile Republicans in Fort Lauderdale near the end of June, including candidates and other governors. According to a report from Politico, this is significant as it comes amid DeSantis’s consideration of a presidential run. Reportedly, it involved an informal event that allowed the attendees to socialize, as well as multiple panels for Conservative leaders and experts.
The news comes alongside growing doubts over Trump’s viability as a candidate. Though he remains broadly popular among Republican voters, he’s starting to lose ground in a number of key demographics.
Nearly half of Republican primary voters would prefer someone other than Trump for candidate in 2024, with a significant number vowing to abandon him if he wins the nomination. He's especially weakened with younger and college-educated Republicanshttps://t.co/ufLECilqwW

According to a recent New York Times/Siena College poll, close to 50% of the primary voters within the GOP have turned against Trump, saying they want someone else to run. This trend is particularly pronounced among younger GOP voters and those with college degrees. For many people, DeSantis would fit neatly into the void left by Trump. The Florida governor would espouse many of the former president’s key policies.
It’s important to note that the ex-POTUS is still a major name in the GOP and he has beaten DeSantis in straw polls.
Who would you prefer to see running for the Republican Party in 2024: DeSantis or Trump?
