Haley Slams Anti-Trump Group Called ‘Haley Voters for Harris’

(RepublicanReport.org) – Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R) was running for president until Super Tuesday in March. Even though she bowed out of the race, she continued to garner votes from Republicans who preferred her as a candidate over the former president. Some of those voters are now turning toward Vice President Kamala Harris but are invoking the Haley name.

On July 23, Haley slammed the political action committee (PAC) named Haley Voters for Harris. She said the fact that her name is in the title seems to indicate that she supports the vice president for the White House in November. The former SC governor said using her name was “deceptive and wrong” while making it clear that she does not support Harris. In fact, she said the two are “total opposites on every issue.”

Fox News reportedly obtained a cease-and-desist letter sent by Haley’s team. The notice demanded that the PAC stop using Haley’s name, image, or likeness for the group without her permission to imply her support for Harris. The letter said doing so was “intentionally false and misleading.”

However, Haley Voters for Harris Director Craig Snyder stated that he hadn’t seen the cease and desist letter but said any “effort to suppress political speech [was] absurd.” He explained the reason for the name of the group stemmed from his own political stance. Snyder said he was a Haley voter, but then she dropped out of the race. While the group called itself Haley Voters for Biden, the members changed its name after President Joe Biden announced he was dropping out and Harris emerged as the frontrunner.

Snyder said the group is meant to attract voters who made similar voting decisions from Haley to Harris and believes they should be able to use whatever name they deem appropriate. The next steps in the matter are unclear, but one thing is clear — Haley said she does not support Harris for president.
