(RepublicanReport.com) – US-China relations have deteriorated steadily in recent years. Former President Donald Trump was consistently skeptical of the Asian superpower, and placed the blame for the COVID-19 pandemic squarely at the feet of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
While Trump’s political opponents decried his action as xenophobia, there’s plenty of evidence that China is, in fact, a massive threat to American interests. On Monday, April 19, former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe called China “our greatest adversary,” during a Heritage Foundation event.
Ratcliffe elaborated that China was the only other nation capable of unseating the US as the dominant global power. He opined that we should aim to make the Communist country “more of a competitor and less of an adversary.”
Ratcliffe’s comments follow two recent threat reports about China from the US intelligence community.
NEW: U.S. intel community is sounding the alarm on the growing national security threat posed by China, with two major recent intel assessments warning of the aggressive actions the CCP is taking to maintain & grow its power at home & abroad.@DCExaminerhttps://t.co/F3XdoN84RN

Fostering a more productive relationship with China will be tricky, given the notorious human rights abuses perpetrated by the government. Clearly, however, this is a critical issue where Biden must create an effective strategy to deal with the Chinese in the coming months.
