Biden Announces $900 MILLION in Funding – Guess What For!
(RepublicanReport.org) – Since taking office, President Joe Biden has made tackling climate change one of his administration’s biggest priorities. A key facet of his strategy has been reducing the use of fossil fuels, which includes promoting electric vehicles. On Wednesday, September 14, Biden announced the release of $900 million in funding for new charging stations in 35 states.
Biden made the announcement while speaking in front of a crowd at the Detroit Auto Show in Michigan, which is one of the states to benefit under the scheme. He revealed the money will fund 500,000 new charging stations across the nation, and that the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) labor union will take charge of the construction project.
In his announcement, Biden alluded to the challenges facing electric vehicle users during his speech. He stated “all sorts of compromises” were once necessary for people with these kinds of cars, but this situation was changing. He promised American drivers would soon be able to drive from “coast to coast” in electric vehicles because of his policies. During the speech, he also stated purchases of electric vehicles had become much more common in the United States of late.
Do you agree with Biden’s heavy spending on EV infrastructure?
